Members of the Galion Police and Fire Departments spoke Wednesday evening at a rally held at Galion Free Methodist Church concerning their departments' future in light of a planned reduction of personnel under the City's current financial recovery plan. Reminder from the Galion Public Library...

The Galion Public Library would like to remind the participants of Children's Summer Reading that children who have met their reading goal by turning in a completed reading log are eligible for the pool party at Heise Park Pool on Saturday, July 31 from 5-7 pm. A signed permission slip, which is available at the Children's circulation desk, MUST be filled out by a parent or guardian and turned in to the library by 6 pm on Friday, July 30 for a child to be allowed into the pool. For more information, call the Galion Public Library at 419-468-3203.

Seperate Utilities

As hard time have come upon the region, many citizens of Galion are having their utilities shut off for non payment. Wouldnt it be in the best interest of all involved to allow the customer to decide which utility they could afford to lose. Seperate the utility billing. A person can live without electric but not without water. It's time for Galion city council to start making some wise decisions and taking appropriate actions to lesson the effects of the downturn of the economy.
