From Citizen to Patriot, a county wide liberty group, will host a "Constitution Kick -Off Celebration" on Armed Forces Day, May 19th ,2012 starting at 10:30 a.m. in front of the Crawford County Courthouse in Bucyrus, Ohio. This exciting event will have the two-fold purpose of celebrating the 225th Anniversary of the U.S. Constitution and paying respect to our military. The celebration has two main thrusts an hour long ceremony that will consist of a line-up of special speakers, patriotic music, and presentations that will place emphasis on the Constitution and U.S. military forces, and a Family Patriotic Event after the ceremony starting at 1145 am. in the downstairs meeting room of the Bucyrus Public Library. This special educational endeavor will feature activities that promote knowledge of the military Constitution, and founding documents/leaders consisting of videos, hand-outs, a display of military weapons, and several games and contests. Each family/person attending this event is encouraged to bring a small patriotic decoration/ornament for our "Liberty Tree". There will also be materials on hand to make decorations for the tree at one of the activity tables. A very important feature of the celebration in general is a large banner of the Constitution that anyone may sign at either before or during the ceremony or at the library event.
In the event of rain, the ceremony will be moved to the Bucyrus High School Gymnasium on West Perry St. Bucyrus.
