I know this doesn't have anything to do with Galion, Crawford County or Ohio...

But I heard this on NPR earlier today, very interesting for those that are into astronomy.

Another planet that is earthlike has been discovered.

Just one slight problem, it's 20 light years away.

We need more speed Scotty !!!

For those that are into Astronomy, you are in for a very rare treat. The Hartley 2 Comet will be passing by earth the closest it has ever been in a few days.

October 20th, check it out.

Thanks for posting this stuff, Anthony. A little off-topic, I know...but I enjoy the science/astronomy stuff. Keep it up.
I'm one of the star geeks. Go up to Perkins Observatory every once in a while.

Yep, me too. Been to Perkins several times. I have a 10" LX200 scope, but too many trees in the yard to use it very much.
When I was a teenager in Galion, several of us used to go out Ammans and star gaze with our scopes. Got caught out there by the GPD one night well past curfew, one look by them through the scope of Titan, one of the moons around Jupiter, they were cool, gave us 15 minutes to wrap and go home. I think it was around 2am or something on a Thursday night.

Glad we weren't drinking beer that night - LOL.
