It is great to read about the Come Home to Galion events for Christmas. I see as well that Discount Drug Mart and other stores already have their Christmas sections open.

In fact, it got me both in the holiday mood and hungry, so I thought that I would post my favorite cookie recipe, which was originally on the Food Network:

Ingredients:

1 stick of softened unsalted butter
3/4 cup of packed dark brown sugar (really pack it in!)
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 12 oz. bag of semisweet chips or chunks
2 1/4 cues of all purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon fine salt.

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Whisk butter, sugars, eggs and vanilla together until smooth. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda and salt. Then stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients, and then stir in the chocolate chips.

Scoop out tablespoons of dough and roll into balls. Place on a cookie sheet two inches apart. Bake 12 to 16 minutes (with a real hot oven, start watching about 10 minutes in) depending on how chewy or crunchy you like them.

Sounds delicious. Speaking of cookies does anyone know what flavor the new Galion Christmas cookies will be?
Melanie --- the "Come Home to Galion" cookies are in both anise and orange flavors, and will come 3 in a bag for a price of $2.00.
