yes that was the highlight of the 8th grade year. I still think about our trip to greenfield village and ford museum. Leaving on the charter buses early in the morning and coming home late at night.
What about the trip to Mohican in 6th grade? That was a lot of fun.

Do the 6th graders still get to do this?
Friday night was seafood night....oh yeah I remember it.
WAS IT 1957 WHEN THE FIELD HOUSE BURNT DOWN AT HEISE PARK AND WE DID NOT HAVE VARSITY EQUIPTMENT FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM AND SOMEBODY DONATED UNIFORMS FOR THE FOOTBALL TEAM, TO FINISH OUT THE SEASON ,WHEN WAS THAT? AND WHAT SCHOOL GAVE US UNIFORMS TO WEAR? THE BUILDING IS NOW THE TICKET OFFICE.
Field house fire was October 26th.,1957--estimated $ 35,000 loss.

I was reading this story and it reminded me  of Galion. I recall little mom and pop stores scattered through out Galion. Just tiny neighborhood stores.

I remember one on Jefferson, just south of Harding Way.

I also recall one on the North End of town, can't recall the street, but I remember buying NEAR BEER there.
