Question of the Week #1 - What are your favorite local "haunts?"

OK, Galion -- and even you Galionites scattered across the country -- what are your favorite "haunts?" We're not referring to haunted places, but rather those out of the way places that you enjoy visiting? Are there area shops, restaurants, and places to visit which you and your family frequent, but not everyone might know about?

Here's your chance to promote your favorite area establishments. We're anxious to hear what you have to say!

OK, this is an easy one. Our family loves to take a drive to Waldo to have fried bologna sandwiches at G&R Tavern. It's a great place for kids as well. Not all of our friends understand our obsession but who cares? The food's great, the prices are great, and the drive is great.

Driving up state 315 just north of Interstate 270 to Delaware " The Tunnel of Trees ".

Truly spectacular on a Sunday morning when nobody is on the road, in the fall it is amazing with the leaves changing color.

Love riding my motorcycle up it with the scent in the air.

Definitely canoeing on the Mohican. You have to call ahead to make sure that the water level is OK, but it's a great experience almost every time. We often combine the trip with a visit to Malabar Farm on the way back, sometimes just to see the animals in the barn and to visit the educational center.
I'm an easy gal; a good movie, a box of popcorn, and that's all I need. I can travel from my own living room!
