Is your street plowed?

I don't know about you, but I haven't seen snow plows in Galion for hours (or even days). I had to come up Cherry Street yesterday, and thought for a moment that I was somewhere in the Arctic.

We live in a city with one of the best snowplow manufacturers in the country, and we can't even seem to do basic road maintenance. I know we're in fiscal crisis or whatever it is, but gee, surely we can do better.

The main streets aren't too bad, like Harding Way, Portland Way, Church Street. You are right about the side streets, though. I don't think that the city even tries to plow them. Maybe its because there are cars parked on them (they aren't snow streets)? Just an idea.
I'm with you, Mel. Then again, I just try to stay at home and hope for warmer weather.

All this is true and Heise Park is the worst!  This is very heavily traveled and because no plowing was done, we are now driving in trenches!  My car sits fairly low to the ground so the trenches make it very difficult to travel.  I would take a different path, but this is the only way to the stadium where I need to drop off my wrestler.  We had two days of sunshine after the ice/snow storm so even if salt would have been put down, it would have been helpful. The sidewalks through there aren't any better. What about the poor kids that walk through there to school?

I live on the street close to the salt barn. And our street plus the street at the barn aren't plowed. Can't someone drop their plow on the way to get salt? Apparently they do Railroad Street, raise their plow and go to get salt. You'd think they could plow the street they HAVE to travel on. The 2 streets are Kroft and Hess. We see the plows go down Kroft and Hess without plowing. Sorry, but that seems absurd. And there are no cars parked along either street.
Went through Heise Park this morning on the way to GMS. What a mess!
THE SAD PART ABOUT THE STREETS IS THEY WILL TELL YOU THAT WE DO NOT  HAVE MANPOWER OR MONEY TO PLOW THE SIDE STREETS WHICH IS NOT TRUE.... STREETS OVER IN IRAQ LOOK BETTER THAN THE ONES IN GALION. THERE STORY WILL BE THAT WE LAID 2 PEOPLE OFF IN THE STREET DEPT AND THEY ARE 1.2 MILLION IN THE RED ON STREET FUND. GET ON THE PHONE TO YOUR COUNCIL PERSON OR GENE TOY.

The small townships can clear the back country roads. Why can't the city get these roads cleared!!! It's embarrassing, and dangerous!!!!

WE ARE SUPPOSE TO HAVING A WARMING TREND AROUND THE FIRST OF MAY,REMEMBER WHEN IT WAS 95 DEGREES IN THE SHADE...........ITS COMMING.

Just because you pay more than anyone else in the county for streets what makes you think you're actually gonna get more service ! Besides the city is in negotiations for pay raises !
