There is a new and exciting Farmers Market starting on August 3rd from 4-6pm at the Galion Kentucky Fried Chicken. It is the Northside market and the local growers are ready to provide the community with fresh fruit, veggies, herbs, honey, maple syrup and baked goods from local farms and market gardens. Rus-Men Farms has just brought home the first batch of heritage breed meat peeps. We ususally buy the white mountain broiler breed that are ready for processing in 8 weeks, but the hatchery where we buy our peeps has now made available a more old fashioned breed called red bro. We are raising 50 of them in a brooder pen for 3 weeks so they get a good start, as peeps need it to be a consistent 90 degrees to live.
